Barely Buttoned No. 17: Comfy Week + Cart to 💗 Debut
Because even when I’m dressing down, my cart stays extra.
Hi, it’s Naz — and this week has been… well, not my most glamorous. The NYC heat + a packed schedule has meant I’ve been reaching for the easiest, breeziest outfits possible: oversized shirts, loose shorts, soft dresses, sandals I can actually walk in. Comfort has been the priority, but I still want to feel like me — and for me, that means there’s usually a little extra somewhere, even in the most casual look.
Which brings me to something I’m excited to share: starting this week, I’m introducing a new regular feature at the end of every Barely Buttoned called Cart to 💗.
It’s my weekly love letter to six pieces that are currently living in my head rent-free. They’re not minimalist staples. They’re loud luxury — pieces that stand out, have personality, and feel like an investment in joy as much as in style.
What I Actually Wore This Week
Oversized white button-down over boxer shorts (my at-home uniform)
Slip dress + chunky hoops for a dinner I almost skipped because of the humidity
My husband’s linen trousers + cropped tank(at least on me) when I wanted to pretend I was in the Mediterranean, not midtown
Sporty slides + linen shorts for errands and NOLA coffee runs
Comfort That Can Leave the House
Because some days the only thing that makes sense is pajamas… but make them chic enough to grab lunch in.
Cotton Sleep Set – Matching top and shorts, so polished you’ll forget they were meant for bed.
Kaftan with animal print – Cozy but structured enough to add sneakers and call it an outfit.
Silk Bias Slip – Effortless and drapey with just the right amount of slink, so luxe you could style it with heels and a blazer for cocktails or keep it barefoot on the balcony.
Luxe Robe Coat – Belted, it reads “street style,” unbelted it reads “Netflix and snacks.”
Cart to 💗
Pieces I’m loving this week:
Dries Floral Print Dress – Romantic and a little unexpected, with that mix-and-match charm that makes it feel like a one-off treasure.
Siedres Jeans – Decorated low-waist denim that instantly makes any basic tee look like a full outfit.
Bluemarine Short Sleeve Blouse – Playful enough to steal the spotlight but light enough to wear even on the hottest days.
Rabanne Skirt – Long, paisley, multi-colored with a chain belt — dramatic, bohemian, and instantly turns a simple top into a look.
Savette Bag – Captures the joy of a popsicle on a summer day — refreshing, playful, and impossible not to smile at.
Alaia Criss Cross Ballet Flats – Minimalist shape, maximalist personality. The kind of shoe that makes even denim feel styled.
That’s it for this week’s Cart to💗. Whether you’re leaning into comfort or craving a little drama, I hope something here inspires you to add a touch of joy to your week — even if it’s just in the form of a great pair of shoes or a bag that makes you smile.
Until next time — stay cool, stay comfortable, and stay extra.
xx,
Naz
