Hi, it’s Naz — and this week, we’re making it official.
Why Barely Buttoned? Because I can barely (actually, can’t) button my pants anymore. I’m pregnant(!), and what started as a clever name for my weekly outfit scroll suddenly feels very, very literal.
So this week’s edit is a little different — a roundup of what I’ve been wearing (and how I’ve been avoiding maternity clothes). I’m also including a Stockholm guide, since I’m writing this from Sweden — where the weather has been perfect, the produce is better, and yes, everyone really is that well-dressed.
🧺 What I’ve Been Wearing + What’s New
No official maternity clothing yet — and I’m trying to avoid it altogether if I can. Comfort is non-negotiable right now, but I still want to feel like me. Here’s what’s been on rotation — plus a few new things that earned their spot in the suitcase:
cropped top, jeans, heeled sandals, boat shoes, bag, charm, diamond earrings, nail polish, striped dress, delicate top, tote, sandals, shell necklace, tank top, flowy pants, denim dress, earrings, swimsuit
On Repeat:
Flowy pants that look intentional but feel like pajamas
My favorite jeans — just two sizes up. (on sale now)
The kind of top that flatters now and later, and one that makes you feel extra fun — bump optional
Low-effort hair essentials: something to make it shiny, something to make it last
Easy dresses that can be worn day and night equally comfy as chic
A swimsuit that pull double duty as a top
Boat shoes but make it fun
New Additions:
Sandals that actually make me feel dressed up
A pop of color that makes any outfit fun
A tote that holds all my snacks and sunglasses
A fun yet neutral necklace that’s easy and gives summer vibes
Sun-kissed in seconds, no beach required
Lightweight, charming, and holds just enough — my go-to when I’m keeping it simple
The rule: if it doesn’t make me feel good and function, it’s not coming along.
📍 Stockholm Recs
If you find yourself in Stockholm this summer (or just want to daydream like you are), here’s what I’d recommend:
Musts:
Walk around Gamla Stan (Old Town) for cobblestones, colorful buildings, and that European storybook energy
Visit the Vasa Museum — even if you’re not a museum person, it’s that impressive
Take a boat to the archipelago for a day trip that feels like a full escape
Visit Svensk Tenn -the ultimate destination for interior inspo, design gifts, and dreamy Swedish maximalism
Grab a fika at Rosendals Trädgård from their organic garden café and stroll through the grounds
NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) — Stockholm’s version of Selfridges — a luxe multi-floor shopping experience
To Eat:
Riche — classic, stylish, always bustling
Café Saturnus — for massive cardamom buns and good people-watching
Sturehof — seafood, sunshine, and very chic locals (my favorite)
Where to Stay:
Ett Hem — if you want to splurge, this is the ultimate Stockholm sanctuary
Nobis Hotel — central, elegant, and always a solid choice
Hotel Diplomat — for waterfront views and old-world charm
Hotel Dagmar — stylish, modern, and buzzy in the best way, if you are a soho house member you might even get a discount
Grand Hôtel — Stockholm’s classic icon, with all the historic drama (and spa)
Stockholm Stadshotell — a trendy new opening in Södermalm with a cool, curated vibe
Pack your sunnies (and umbrella) and stretch your fika breaks — you’ll want to linger.
More soon. Maybe even with buttons.
xx
